WHO WE ARE

Muchik Surf School.SAC is a business legally constituted under the laws of Perú, dedicated to the promotion, teaching of surfing at a national level, using diverse proven programs designed for a modern and efficient learning experience. The Surf School is also involved in the organizing of events such as surf trips and competitions.

FOUNDERS

Omar and Chicho Huamanchumo, two brothers are local surfers, and heirs of an ancient tradition. We have a lot of experience in both teaching and competition, having been winners of several tournaments, both locally and nationally.

In 1992 we were part of the first surfing school in huanchaco. Since then, we developed a surfing training plan to improve the level of our students.

Our School is a member of:

-Hawaiian Surfboard League of Trujillo - LTHT. Entity that governs the sport of surfing in the north.
-Peruvian Surf Federation - FENTA. Entity that governs the sport of surfing in Peru.
-Peruvian Institute of Sport - IPD.
-International Surfing Association - ISA. Entity that governs the sport of surfing in the world.
-Association of Schools Catarinense Surfing of Brasil - ACES. Entity that governs the sport of surfing in Brasil.
-Municipal Authority of Huanchaco.

SAFETY CERTIFICATION

Our instructors are specialized in first aid, rescue and water rescue. Certified by:

-Peru Volunteer Fire .
-National Police of Peru.
-Clave 5.
-Navy of Peru.

OUR WORK

OUR LESSONS

The school brings the highest level of teaching in a supportive environment in order to deliver a rapid, enjoyable and safe learning experience.
For this reason we have developed a TEACHING SYSTEM* based on three basic stages: Introduction to the sport, Theoretical Class and Practical Class; in the following levels:

Beginner, intermediate and advanced surfers

RENTALS

We have a big range of surfing equipment available for rent.

You can choose between Shortboard, Funboard, Malibu, Retro Fish, LongBoard fiber or epoxy. If you want to start safely, we also have coated cork boards (softboards), for maximum security.

HHHPSURFBOARDS is our main supplier, boards made in Huanchaco, Peru.

SOCIAL SUPPORT

We have a strong social commitment to huanchaquera childhood. It's part of our mission to build School our students in charity and in creating new ideals through works of social good.

We have a project called Social Support:
Give a smile to children in low income "Friends surfers".

We surf trips to other beaches, so you can surf on waves of different characteristics:

Puerto Chicama: considered the longest left wave in the world.
Pacasmayo: A big and long wave.
Puemape: a wave of very good size and tubular.

STAFF OF JUDGES

Our company has a judge staff suitably trained and accredited by the International Surfing Association (ISA) and the National Sports Federation Surf (FENTA) thanks to the expertise of our friend and teacher Caetano (Nino) Lauro, who is the official host ISA for Peru and Latin America.

OF OUR LAST NAME

This is a synthesis of ancestral name "Huamanchumo". The name "Huamanchumo" is trujillana descent, especially native of the coastal district of Huanchaco, right in the area where the pre-Hispanic archaeological remains of the citadel of Chan-Chan - Trujillo, where there was the 'Kingdom Chimu.

CABALLITO OF TOTORA

With a history dating back to 5000 years, the reed horses are the last vestige of a culture that lived linked to the sea. It is built rafts of reeds known as totora.

SURF IN HUANCHACO

It seems that the surfboard comes to Huanchaco in 1964. The United States brought a group of young trujillanos belonging to the upper class who were already practicing surfing in Lima. Start running waves in the 'curvita' next to the pier and across from the 'traditional' village of Huanchaco.

SURF IN PERU

In the 30s, was in the Hawaiian Islands Peru Carlos Dogny Larco athlete to participate in a tournament of Polo. He learned surfboard surfing while in the islands and their return to Peru brought the first surfboard in Latin America.
